While working through the pictures taken at the National Championship Air Races in September 2007 when I discovered a picture I did not realize I had taken.This picture appears to show Formula One pilot
Jason Somes flying over the crash site of fellow pilot Gary Hubler near the first pylon on the race course. Hubler was killed as a result of the crash and Somes was able to land safely.
This picture seems to show that the plane piloted by Somes appeared to be under control immediately after the collision with the tail of Hubler's plane.
